2019 Events

On Sunday 5 May the traditional “Spaghettata Abruzzese” event was held as every year after Easter. The Abruzzese association, continued to set up this traditional event in the welcoming Orion room of the Smithfield RSL Club with the support from the coordinator Brianna Young. After the Australian and Italian anthems, President Luigi Bucciarelli thanked all the members who have never failed to support their own participation in the events.
The President has expressed great recognition to the sponsors for their generosity and assistance with the hope that they will continue also in the future. A sincere thanks to the management of the Smithfield RSI Club for their hospitality, for the presence of the executive committee of the Madonna del Carmelo and for the President of the Club ltaly Ben Sonego accompanied by his committee.

The President Bucciarelli did not fail to discuss with parents and grandparents present in the room, to encourage their own children and grandchildren to form a youth committee; the Abruzzese Association stands out for the attention it dedicates to traditions and culture.
Furthermore, the committee of the Association of the Abruzzese Del NSW Inc. is always looking to keep the prices of the events very low. It is however aware that it is difficult to accept changes and for this reason he thanks all the members for their understanding. During the day a sumptuous 4-course lunch was served and the traditional dish of spaghetti seasoned with the typical Abruzzo sauce was served, cooked by the famous head chef Ben Ndreka specialized in international and Mediterranean foods. The musical performance of the “Dolce Entertainment” aroused great enthusiasm among those present and the famous Maestro Lucio Ventresca dragged the dancers onto the dance floor with the well-known and loved music and songs.

The lottery drawing favored eleven participants and the President He thanked the benefactors, in a special way Mr. Sam Guarna for the rich donation The extraction of the Member’s Draw of the $ 100.00 currency will be extracted at the next party of the “Sagne and Fasciuli” which will take place. on 7 July 2019.

The talented musician Lucio Ventresca will entertain  you with popular songs and dancing music during the day.
We have also organised  lottery prizes followed by The “Members Draw”  value of $100.00 for the financial member, present on the day.

The commemorative event will be held at  Smithfield RSL Club, Cnr Cumberland RD & Neville St,  Smithfield.
The celebration will commence with a Mass at 11.30 am in the Orion Hall
followed by a traditional lunch at 12.30 pm.

This event is recognized world wide by Abruzzo Parliament and Consiglio Regionale Abruzzesi nel Mondo ( CRAM).
We will joined by community organizations, political representatives and business guests.

We will serve a delicious 4 course meal.
Beverages, coffe and tea are included.

Cost:   $ 50.00 for members.     $ 55.00 for non members and  $ 20.00
for children six to twelve.

Entertainment will be provided by the talent Lucio Ventresca accompanied by the dynamic singer Sylvana.
We have also organized a rich lottery following  by the Member’s Draw valued $ 150.00. The financial member must be present on the day.
The proceed of the lottery will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Dementia Research Foundation.

The Bay of Sydney has presented itself in all its beauty and between the sound of the sea and music, the day was pleasant.
At the beginning, those present were served a tasty canapé of spring rolls and omelette, followed by a lunch buffet  including variety of Italian-type foods and sweet and fruity succulents.

President Luigi Bucciarelli, recognizing the support of the many new participants, has thanked them for their willingness to participate and welcomed new members.
Furthermore, he expressed his heartfelt thanks to the dear members, the Sponsors and the benefactors for theirs continuous support.
Also this year, the proceeds from the lottery will be diverted to the Rural Aid organization to help farmers.
The clue of the day was the musical show with the singer Mike Tsama.

The interpretation of the unforgettable songs of the famous singers Elvis Presley and Tom Jones has aroused applause that resounded in the halls packed with participants.

The event will be held on Sunday l December 2019  at l l am at Kokoda Park, Fremont ST. Killora ST. Concord West.

We are sure to satisfy you with a char-grilled meat and sausages BBQ.
The cost is:
Free for members & all children less than 2 years.
Non members: $ 15.00 per person.

For everyone’s comfort please bring chairs, tables and drinks so you can enjoy the day. Entertainment will be provide by the talent singer and musician Lucio Ventresca and Father Christmas will bring presents for the children.
